Hello.........

This is where I say my Bit, my ramblings. So you can either read on or GO Home....
Well the millennium came and went, did the world come to an end, did anything change, did the bugs bite,

A big FAT     .... NOPE.....

and I was one of the stupid ones that went to work to fight the dreaded BUG war.
Mind you some say the new millennium starts now. Well I suppose that could be true, if you think about it. In the beginning it started at zero and went to one and then that was the first anniversary. So therefore the new millennium started on January 1st 2001.
The events that I remember and bring back memories are:-
January - It was my Birthday, only 49 years young and a surprise Lunchtime meal with 3 of my greatest friends - The wife and kids. What's more it was a total surprise. - Wonderful.
In the News - England pulled off an unlikely and historic win over South Africa in the final Test at Centurion Park. The game could not have been scripted better, and was still in the balance as it entered its final over, with any of four results possible. South Africa could have won with two more wickets, while a draw and even a tie was still possible. But it was the touring team - and the game itself - which triumphed as spectators frustrated by three days without cricket saw a day's action they are unlikely to forget.

February - I hate February - It's cold and wet - But at least it's SHORT. Cannot think of anything else to say.
In the News - The Millennium wheel finally opens - The £35m wheel - officially called the British Airways London Eye - opened on Tuesday 1st Feb morning after passing a final safety check. And will stay open for 5 years.

March - Start looking for new car. What shall it be. Cars checked out include Lexus 200 (different) - Vauxhall Vectra (boring) - Ford Mondeo (boring) - Seat Toledo V5 (hmmm - different - cheapest but most expensive at lease) - And oops Sue had her car dented. Not her fault.
In the News -

April - Still looking - plus now Mazda Xedos 9 (2.3 litre Turbo charged - really does zzooooooooommmmmm) and now Honda Accord (This could be it)
First holiday of the year - Paignton - Visited loads of places including the ZOO - saw some of the faces from the BBC Zoo program.

May - I've got a new car - A Honda Accord SE Exec 2.0 litre with all the trimmings - It's great and automatic and manual. - Sue takes part in the Sawston Fun Run, as part of the Sawston Players team. - Michael gets his first Car a Nissan Sunny.

June - Off again this time to York. Posh lodge with a 4 poster Bed. Apart from York also visited the Brimstone Rocks, very impressive view. You can see for miles and miles and miles.... I just love the Yorkshire country side.

July - The New NTL Building at Landbeach is now complete, have seen my new offices. Very nice. Building surrounded by water, and a wild life reserve.

August - We have a posh new drive. And all completed in a week. If you want to know the name of a good "drive layer" let me know. And I move into my new office, unfortunately due to series of complications with our new management system, my team does not. Still it is nice and quite.

Day 5

September - Duxford Airshow. I love airshows. Loads of Spitfires and Hurricanes in the air, 22 to be exact. Michael gets job as an apprentice with NTL.

October - Off again to Isle of Anglesey (Welsh Wales). And no kids with us. Wonderful. No moans as we walk the time away. Visited some of place we visited years ago with Roy, Lynn and Dick. And guess what the places are still there, just a little older.

November - Not a good Month - "Planning for growth" means changes and cut backs at work, over 300 to go - Would seem not to effect my team, but not so sure about me. - Oh well life goes on.

December - Planning for growth - Means I lose my 2 managers, and half my team - I'm ok - Sad all round - But I am hopeful new posts will be found for them all. Michael becomes 18 arghhhhhh. We did plan a birthday surprise with local football club, Cambridge United. But Michael managed to mess the whole thing up, by buying a burger at the wrong time whilst an announcement was made.

Brrrrrrrr yes it snowed

So that's it, doesn't seem alot for a year, it goes so quick.

Music I remember for one reason or another includes
Emma Shapplin, opera goes POP - Try it
The Moody Blues - Back again - New album. They never seem to change.
Madonna - Music - Love it
Films
Sixth Sense, Ok who got it. Who twigged it before the end, I will say no more - See it, best film of the year .... BRILL
Theatre Shows
Did we see any - cannot remember - must have been good.
